Change a bulb. Change Everything.
This is a nice thought and more true than you might think!
Yahoo has started up a tracking system for the energy efficient light bulbs and how they are having an impact.
I just got my first 8 pack at Costco and can’t wait for my old bulbs to burn out. Heck with it! They’re going away anyway!
I first heard about this a while back when bloggers started a push for this. Some friends of mine joined in!
I wonder what Sarah Silverman would say on the subject?

CFL bulbs will go down in history as being the biggest scam of our generation. Bush just signed the 2007 energy bill that will phase out incandescent bulbs. Incandescent bulbs are inexpensive and many are made in the United States by American workers. CFLs are much more expensive, made in China, and pollute the environment. The statistics and formula’s used to show the supposed savings are extremely flawed, including overestimating the lifespan of cfls and underestimating the lifespan of incandescents. These formulas also are saying the excess energy used by incandescents is wasted. Horse pucky! If you live in a cooler climate like Oregon the excess heat generated by your lights contribute to heating your home. It’s not wasted.
Don’t believe all the green/corporate rhetoric. CFLs are not green. They come individually packed in hard, non-recyclable packaging, because they contain toxic mercury. Incandescent bulbs come packed in easily recyclable cardboard.
There are many ways to better save energy than by buying toxic, grey light producing, over packaged, over marketed cfls.
